On December 7, 2006, a 25-year-old male volunteer fire fighter responded to a restaurant fire. On-scene, the fire fighter helped remove part of a wall to access burning wires. Units returned to their station one hour later, and the fire fighter returned home for the evening. debris, and was found not breathing while still wearing his SCBA and SCBA mask. On February 4, 2007, a 27-year-old male career fire fighter (the victim) and a 38-year-old male career fire fighter were trapped under a canopy which collapsed off of a burning residential garage. The victim was pinned under the canopy debris, and was found not breathing while still wearing his SCBA and SCBA mask. The second fire fighter received injuries requiring time off from work

Scranton Fire Capt. James Robeson, a 25-year veteran, was in the bucket lift of a fire truck, trying to prevent flames from spreading to neighboring houses, when he came into contact with an arc from a power line and suffered a fatal shock. Three other firefighters suffered electrical burns and were hospitalized. "This is just a tragic, tragic (case of) what appears to be miscommunication," Deputy Fire Chief Terry Osborne said Monday.
